Ordering, Prescribing or Referring (OPR) Provider Search
For Indiana Health Coverage Programs (IHCP) services that require an order, prescription or referral, the ordering, prescribing or referring provider indicated on the claim must be enrolled with the IHCP on the date of service (DOS).
You can use this tool to determine the IHCP enrollment status of a particular healthcare provider. You will need the National Provider Identifier (NPI) of the provider you are checking.
Caution:
Confirmation of IHCP enrollment alone does not guarantee that a provider is eligible to order, prescribe or refer a service. The provider must be enrolled under a
provider type and specialty
that is allowable for ordering, prescribing or referring that particular service (for service-specific requirements, see the applicable
IHCP provider reference module
). Additionally, the provider must be enrolled under an appropriate
classification,
such as “Rendering” or “Ordering, Prescribing, Referring (OPR)”; providers enrolled under the Group classification are not allowable as the ordering, prescribing or referring provider on the claim.
