Several vendors work together to administer pharmacy benefits on
behalf of the Indiana Health Coverage Programs (IHCP).
Pharmacy Benefit Management
The IHCP Pharmacy Benefits Manger is ACS, a Xerox Company. ACS is
responsible for the Preferred Drug List, Supplemental Rebates,
pharmacy prior authorization (PA), and automated pharmacy PA/SmartPA.
In instances in which PA cannot be immediately obtained, a
pharmacist may dispense and be reimbursed for an emergency supply.

Claims processing is provided by HP Enterprise Services.

Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS)
Key business lines for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid
Services (CMS) are the following:
- Medicare health plans
- Medicare financial management
- Medicare fee-for-service operations
- Medicaid and children's health survey, certification and
quality improvement
Providers should periodically review the CMS
section of the IHCP Provider Web site for inclusive memoranda
of notes and instructions sent to the State Medicaid directors
concerning the Medicaid drug rebate program and product
coverage.
