  • Income limits now calculating correctly for presumptive eligibility applications

    07/11/2017 - The Indiana Health Coverage Programs (IHCP) previously identified that the federal poverty level (FPL) income limit calculation for determining presumptive eligibility was computing incorrectly. This issue has been resolved. Presumptive eligibility income limit calculations are now computing correctly.

  • Authorization numbers for PA requests are no longer case-sensitive in the Provider Healthcare Portal

    07/03/2017 - The Portal now allows users to enter PA authorization numbers using lower-case or upper-case alpha characters. Entries keyed in lower-case are now automatically converted into upper-case by the system.

  • Update: Nursing facility rate reduction extended

    06/30/2017 - As previously published in Indiana Health Coverage Programs (IHCP) Bulletin BT201529, the IHCP implemented a 3% reduction in reimbursement paid to nursing facilities effective January 1, 2014, through June 30, 2017. This reimbursement reduction will be extended through June 30, 2019.

  • Update: Reduction in inpatient and outpatient hospital services reimbursement extended

    06/30/2017 - As previously published in Indiana Health Coverage Programs (IHCP) Bulletin BT201530, the IHCP implemented a 3% reduction in reimbursement for inpatient and outpatient hospital services effective January 1, 2014, through June 30, 2017.This reimbursement reduction will be extended through June 30, 2019.

  • OPR providers required to revalidate their IHCP enrollment

    06/13/2017 - The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) recently provided guidance clarifying that ordering, prescribing, and referring (OPR) providers must revalidate their Medicaid enrollments at intervals not to exceed every five years. Accordingly, the Indiana Health Coverage Programs (IHCP) is requiring enrolled OPR providers to revalidate based on their initial enrollment date.

  • IHCP is addressing system issues with batch 270/271 eligibility transactions

    05/22/2017 - With the implementation of CoreMMIS, the Indiana Health Coverage Programs (IHCP) has identified issues with batch 270/271 eligibility transactions. These issues affect only electronic eligibility inquiries for a small percentage of Medicaid members. They do not affect eligibility inquiries performed via the Provider Healthcare Portal or the Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system. The IHCP anticipates resolution the 270/271 batch issues on May 24, 2017.

    05/10/2017 - The Provider Healthcare Portal is unavailable. Providers can continue to use the Interactive Voice Response (IVR) to verify eligibility.

  • IHCP allows providers until September 1, 2017, to update rendering provider linkages

    05/03/2017 - IHCP policy requires rendering providers to be linked to the locations where they render services for a group practice. In CoreMMIS, claims billed for services performed by rendering providers not linked to the specific service location on the claim deny for EOB 1010. The IHCP will temporarily convert EOB 1010 to a “post-and-pay” status through August 31, 2017, allowing providers ample time to link rendering providers to the appropriate group locations.

  • IHCP transitions certain members from Hoosier Healthwise to Traditional Medicaid

    04/27/2017 - Effective May 1, 2017, the IHCP will serve enrolling adult refugees eligible for coverage under the low-income parent/caretaker aid category through Traditional Medicaid rather than through Hoosier Healthwise. As a result, these members will receive services via the fee-for-service delivery system, rather than under a managed care health plan. Providers are reminded to check member eligibility to know which delivery system applies for PA and billing purposes.

  • PA authorization number is case-sensitive in the Provider Healthcare Portal

    04/26/2017 - The Indiana Health Coverage Programs (IHCP) informs providers that the field for the authorization number used to search and review prior authorization (PA) requests in the Provider Healthcare Portal is case-sensitive. Alpha characters in the authorization number must be keyed in UPPER CASE. If the authorization number is keyed incorrectly, providers will receive an “authorization not found” error message.

  • Income limit calculating incorrectly for presumptive eligibility applications

    04/21/2017 - The Indiana Health Coverage Programs (IHCP) has identified that the federal poverty level (FPL) income limit calculation for determining presumptive eligibility is computing incorrectly. As a result some applicants are either being denied eligibility altogether or being approved only for limited coverage under the Family Planning Eligibility Program in error. The IHCP is working on a permanent solution to this issue. Refer to the full article for an interim solution.

  • IHCP to deactivate CoreMMIS email box

    04/06/2017 - Effective April 14, 2017, the Indiana Health Coverage Programs (IHCP) will deactivate the incoremmis2015im@hpe.com email box, which was established to help answer providers' questions and resolve issues related to the implementation of CoreMMIS. Providers will need to resume the standard inquiry methods for requesting assistance and resolving issues.

  • HPE merges with CSC to form DXC Technology

    04/05/2017 - Effective April 3, 2017, the Enterprise Services Division of Hewlett Packard Enterprises (HPE) has merged with information-technology corporation CSC to form a new company, DXC Technology.

  • IHCP will reimburse providers for erroneous claim recoupments

    03/31/2017 - IHCP has identified that erroneous accounts receivable recoupments were made between February 13, 2017, and March 24, 2017. These errors affected providers with retro-rate claim adjustments and claim mass adjustments that were processed during that time.

  • Hoosier Care Connect members reassigned to Anthem and MHS health plans

    03/30/2017 - As of April 1, 2017, all Hoosier Care Connect (HCC) members previously enrolled with MDwise will have been reassigned to either Managed Health Services (MHS) or to Anthem. Providers are reminded they must check member eligibility and managed care entity (MCE) assignment through the IHCP eligibility verification system (EVS) – either through the Provider Healthcare Portal or through the Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system.

  • IHCP now accepting Year 1 attestations for Program Year (PY) 2016

    03/30/2017 - The Indiana Health Coverage Program (IHCP) is now accepting Year 1 applications in the Medical Assistance Provider Incentive Repository (MAPIR). For Program Year (PY) 2016, eligible professionals (PEs), eligible hospitals (EHs), and critical access hospitals (CAHs) will have until May 1, 2017, to attest to meaningful use (MU) and adopting, implementing, upgrading (AIU).

  • OPR Provider Search Tool now available

    03/28/2017 - Indiana Health Coverage Programs (IHCP) providers that render services to Medicaid members must verify IHCP enrollment of the ordering, prescribing, or referring (OPR) provider before service or supplies are rendered. A comprehensive OPR Search Tool is now available on indianamedicaid.com

  • IHCP identifies issues with processing nursing home claims

    03/23/2017 - The Indiana Health Coverage Programs (IHCP) has identified issues with the processing of nursing home claims, claim type L, in CoreMMIS. These reported issues are being researched and future publications with detailed information will be forthcoming.

  • OPR Provider Search Tool under development

    03/22/2017 - IHCP providers that render services to Medicaid members must verify IHCP enrollment of the ordering, prescribing, or referring provider before service or supplies are rendered. Since the transition to CoreMMIS, a comprehensive OPR Provider Search tool has not been available. This tool is currently under development. Until the OPR search tool is available, providers will need to use a two-step process to verify enrollment with IHCP.

  • Reminder: Web interChange will be fully retired on March 15, 2017

    03/10/2017 - Providers are reminded that the Web interChange functionality for retrieving Remittance Advices (RAs) for claims processed in IndianaAIM will be available only through March 15, 2017. At 6 p.m. on that date, this functionality will be turned off and Web interChange will be fully retired. Providers must retrieve RA information before that time.

  • Providers will see a one-day delay in their payments

    02/22/2017 - There will be a one-day delay in electronic funds transfer (EFT) payments posting to provider bank accounts for claims processed the week of February 13, 2017. Rather than posting on Wednesday, February 22, 2017, these payments will post Thursday, February 23, 2017. Check payments were not impacted by this delay. Providers may refer to their weekly Remittance Advice (RA) for expected payment amounts. Providers can find the RAs on the Search Payment History page in the Portal.

  • Providers: Until further notice, please do not submit claims, PA requests, or EHR attestations through the Portal

    02/13/2017 - On February 13, 2017, the IHCP replaced its information system, IndianaAIM, with the new CoreMMIS and the Provider Healthcare Portal. Implementation continues to move toward completion. Beginning Monday, February 13, 2017, providers are asked not to submit FFS claims, requests for PAs, and EHR attestations through the Portal until further notice. Providers can continue to submit PA requests to CMCS via fax at 1-800-689-2759. Batch claims (EDI 37) will be accepted and held, but not processed.

  • EHR submissions will resume February 13, 2017

    02/09/2017 - If you are an eligible professional (EP), eligible hospital (EH), or critical access hospital (CAH) ready to submit a program year 2016 (PY 2016) application for meaningful use (MU), or for adopting, implementing, upgrading (AIU) EHR technology, you can do so beginning Monday, February 13, 2017. Access to the MAPIR will be available via the Provider Healthcare Portal (Portal) beginning February 13, and for PY 2016, EPs/EHs/CAHs will have until May 1, 2017, to attest to MU and AIU.

  • IHCP sets new CoreMMIS implementation date of February 13, 2017

    01/27/2017 - The Indiana Health Coverage Programs (IHCP) has set Monday, February 13, 2017, as the date for implementation of the new CoreMMIS. Along with CoreMMIS, a new interface called the Provider Healthcare Portal (Portal) will replace Web interChange. Business transactions will be suspended for a period of time before the conversion.   • IHCP identifies claim processing error for Hoosier Healthwise dental claims

    01/13/2017 - Hoosier Healthwise claims for certain dental codes that were supposed to be submitted to the MCEs were submitted in error to HPE and continued to process and pay. HPE’s claims processing system has been corrected. Dental providers whose Hoosier Healthwise dental claims were processed by HPE, whether denied or paid, should void the claims and resubmit them to the appropriate MCE or MCE dental benefit manager. All claims paid in error will be recouped as accounts receivable.

  • Processing of medical and outpatient claims to be minimally delayed

    01/04/2017 - Processing of IHCP medical and outpatient claims submitted beginning January 1, 2017, will be minimally delayed so that system upgrades related to NCCI edits can be completed. Claims submitted for processing beginning January 1, 2017, will be held until January 6, 2017, at which time claim processing will resume. Claims will be processed in the order they are received. All delayed claims are expected to be processed by January 10, 2017.

  • Register on the new IHCP Provider Healthcare Portal!

    01/04/2017 - Attention, providers! Web interChange will be retired soon. To avoid interruptions, you must register on the new Provider Healthcare Portal before CoreMMIS implementation. A link to the Portal is provided on the Indiana CoreMMIS web page. Providers will need to create a unique, secure Provider account for each IHCP-enrolled service location to conduct business with the IHCP when the new CoreMMIS system is implemented.
