Upgrade Planned for the Indiana Medicaid EHR Meaningful Use Portal

Upgrade planned for the Indiana Medicaid EHR Meaningful Use Portal

Indiana Medicaid's Electronic Health Records (EHR) Registration and Attestation Portal will undergo systems maintenance in April to prepare for Year 2 payments for Stage 1 Meaningful Use. In preparation, beginning April 3, the Indiana Medicaid EHR Incentive Program will suspend processing of any newly received applications, including first-year adopt-implement-upgrade (AIU) applications.

The portal will re-open in early May for Medicaid-eligible provider AIU registration and for Medicaid-eligible hospital Year 2 attestation. Medicaid-eligible providers will be able to attest for Year 2 payment incentives (90-day attestation) beginning in summer 2012. The portal will introduce enhancements such as electronic signature submission and enhanced data matching between state and federal agencies.

Eligible providers and hospitals can continue to register with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Registration and Attestation Portal during this period in preparation for attesting with Indiana in 2012. See the Indiana Electronic Health Records (EHR) Incentive Program page on this site for more details.

Indiana has distributed more than $60 million since May 2011 to more than 1,000 eligible providers and hospitals that have successfully demonstrated that they met program requirements.
