The HIPAA 5010 and NCPDP D.0 Compliance Date Is Fast
Approaching!
The mandatory compliance date for American National Standards
Institute (ANSI) version 5010 and the National Council for
Prescription Drug Programs (NCPDP) version D.0 for all covered
entities is January 1, 2012.
Version 5010
The Indiana Health Coverage Programs (IHCP) continues to test
5010 vendor transactions for transition readiness. All trading
partners have been contacted and encouraged to complete testing by
October 31, 2011. Providers must communicate with their software
vendor or clearinghouse to make sure these entities are in the
process of testing with the IHCP.
A list of software
vendors and clearinghouses that have been approved for version
5010 is now available. This list will be updated weekly on
Friday.
NCPDP D.0
The IHCP will begin NCPDP D.0 claims testing with switch vendors
in November 2011. Pharmacy providers are not required to test;
however, if they wish to test through their switch vendor, they
should contact the NCPDP D.0 testing team at INXIXTradingPartner@hp.com.
