HIPAA 5010 and NCPDP D.0 Compliance Date - January 1,
2012
As announced in the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services
(CMS) statement posted November 17, 2011, the compliance date for
the use of the Accredited Standards Committee (ASC) X12 Version
5010 and National Council for Prescription Drug Programs (NCPDP)
D.0 transactions remains January 1, 2012. All trading partners
exchanging electronic transactions with Indiana Medicaid are
expected to be compliant with Health Insurance Portability and
Accountability Act (HIPAA) 5010 and NCPDP D.0 by January 1,
2012.
Indiana Medicaid will implement all HIPAA 5010 and NCPDP D.0
transactions on or before January 1, 2012. Claims and Remittance
Advice transactions (837P, 837I, 837D and 835) will be implemented
in early December 2011 for trading partners that have completed
testing. Eligibility, claims status, and pharmacy claims
transactions will implement on January 1, 2012.
