On September 23, 2010 the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid
Services (CMS) issued proposed rules on the new provider screening
provisions mandated by the Affordable Care Act (ACA). These rules
included a request for comment due by November 16th and the State
has elected to issue a response. In the process of responding to
this request for comment the State is seeking input from the
provider community to incorporate into the response. We anticipate
that these federal rules will have an impact on the Indiana
Medicaid provider certification process and we want to be sure the
State understands the provider perspective. Providers may also
respond directly to CMS.
